Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related services offered by spotmarkza through its website. The courses focus on specialised training in live production decks and control rooms, including multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and professional management of television and streaming productions. It covers both one-time course purchases and any subscription-based access to training materials or live sessions. The policy governs transactions made by consumers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are handled, when contracts are formed, and the circumstances under which refunds may be issued. It does not cover third-party services or products purchased outside the spotmarkza platform.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges
All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for optional extras such as extended access periods, certification fees, or physical materials shipped to the customer. spotmarkza reserves the right to adjust prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed. Customers are responsible for any currency conversion fees imposed by their payment provider if paying from outside the UK. No hidden fees are added after checkout, and the total amount payable is shown clearly before payment is authorised.
Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security
spotmarkza accepts major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers for course purchases. Payment authorisation occurs at the point of checkout, and funds are held securely until the order is confirmed. All transactions are processed through PCI DSS compliant gateways to ensure card details are encrypted and never stored on our servers. Customers may be required to complete additional verification steps such as 3D Secure for certain card payments. In the event of a failed authorisation, the order will not proceed, and the customer will be notified immediately.
Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed
A contract between the customer and spotmarkza is formed once the customer completes the checkout process and receives an order confirmation email. This email details the course purchased, access instructions, and total amount paid. For live sessions or scheduled courses, booking confirmation is sent within 24 hours of payment. Until this confirmation is received, no contract exists, and spotmarkza is not obliged to provide access. Customers should retain the confirmation email as proof of purchase.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which they may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content or immediate access courses, this right is lost once the customer begins downloading or streaming the material. Live sessions cannot be cancelled once they have started. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, but access continues until the end of the paid period. To cancel, customers must notify spotmarkza in writing within the cooling-off window.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services
Refunds are available during the 14-day cooling-off period if the customer has not accessed the course content. After this period, refunds are granted only in exceptional circumstances such as technical faults preventing access that spotmarkza cannot resolve. Non-refundable items include partial course completions, promotional bundles, and any certification fees already incurred. Refunds are not provided for change of mind after the cooling-off period or for failure to meet personal learning expectations. Digital downloads and live attendance are considered consumed upon access.
The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund
To request a refund, customers should first contact [email protected] with their order number, full name, and reason for the request. The email must include the date of purchase and any supporting details such as error messages if access issues are involved. spotmarkza will acknowledge the request within two working days. Customers may also use the contact form on the Contacts page. No refund request will be processed without the order confirmation reference. Requests made by telephone to 01494 671234 will be directed to email for record-keeping purposes.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision
Upon receipt of a refund request, spotmarkza will inspect the account to confirm whether content has been accessed. A decision will be communicated within 10 working days via email. If approved, the customer receives confirmation of the refund amount and timeline. If rejected, the email will explain the specific policy reason and offer alternatives such as course transfer. Customers may appeal a rejection once by providing additional evidence, after which the decision is final.
Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of approval. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear on statements within 3 to 5 working days, while PayPal refunds process within 24 hours. Bank transfers may take up to 10 working days depending on the recipient bank. spotmarkza is not responsible for delays caused by the customer’s financial institution. A confirmation email is sent once the refund has been initiated.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant
For digital courses, the 14-day cooling-off period ends immediately upon first access. Subscription renewals are charged automatically unless cancelled at least 48 hours before the renewal date. Promotional offers such as discounted bundles are non-refundable once redeemed. Live production workshops are treated as services and are non-refundable after the session begins. Customers retain the right to request a refund for faulty digital content under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud
Failed payments result in immediate suspension of access until resolved. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded automatically within five working days. Chargebacks are treated as disputes and may lead to account suspension pending resolution. Suspected fraudulent activity triggers immediate account review, and spotmarkza cooperates with payment providers and authorities as required. Customers should report suspected fraud to [email protected] without delay.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude
This policy does not affect any statutory rights under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Customers retain the right to claim for faulty goods or services regardless of this policy. Nothing in this document excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern how personal data related to payments is handled.
Contact Route, Policy Changes, and Last-Updated Date

The last-updated date appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
